CelebNMovies247.com reports that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is looking for a worthy James Gunn replacement.
Apparently, Marvel and Disney feel that Bumblebee director Travis Knight is the best fit and here is why.
What you may not know is that Travis Knight was already being eyed for the job of directing The Eternals movie, which is in development as part of the studio’s future plans beyond Avengers 4.
Now, it appears that Marvel and Disney liked Knight enough to consider handing him the keys to the Guardians franchise instead. Though, reporter Umberto Gonzalez claims that there is no credibility to this rumor.
Here’s what he had to say on Twitter:
That Travis Knight Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 rumor is not true. Just got shot down.
Apparently, the studio knows more than anyone else. Maybe they saw an advance screening of Bumblebee?
With all the new talk going on it appears that the studio is going in another direction and scrapping the female director idea. That cancels out S.J. Clarkson (Star Trek 4), Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) and Dee Rees (Mudbound) if there is any truth to this.
