Disney has finally come to their senses and has rehired James Gunn to direct his baby, Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Since Disney fired James Gunn over stupidity from social media the film has been stale mate. Fans deserve the man with the vision and pen to make the third installment incredible, so the Gunn is back. Thank you Disney for being so wise finally. Read on for the tea spill…
CelebNMovies247.com reports that Jame Gunn is back on board to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
According to a new report, after several meetings with Disney Studios president Alan Horn, James Gunn was rehired.
We have also heard that the decision was not made lightly and was ultimately arrived at given how Gunn handled the aftermath of the situation. It was how he offered a sincere apology and how he took full responsibility for his comments.
If you recall, the comments were made years ago and were dug up by conservative bloggers. Since they didn’t agree with Gunn’s outspoken political views on social media, they tried to ruin him.
The reinstatement has reportedly been confirmed, though not publicly, by both Marvel and James Gunn’s representatives. This should be great news to Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and particularly Dave Bautista penned an open letter petitioning to have him reinstated.
Gunn ended up being hired by DC and Warner Bros. to write and direct Suicide Squad 2, which is now under the title The Suicide Squad. The sequel will hit the big screen in 2021.
Once Squad is completed filming, Gunn will circle back to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It’s interesting since Gunn now has a strong footing in both superhero universes.
Like we’ve previously reported Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was very vocal that they were always using James Gunn’s script, but a production timeline wasn’t established. What is also interesting is that production was set for January 2019, but Marvel never met with other directors for the job. To be honest, no one could ever fill James Gunn’s shoes. We believe the studio new that all along. They just appeased the masses because of the idiotic attack on his character on social media.
We’re happy that Disney finally saw the big picture and decided to have a successful movie instead of a flop with another director. We wish studios will STOP listening to stupid and hateful blog sites stirring up dirt for
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – now we just all have to wait a bit longer. This news was first reported by Deadline.
