CelebNMovies247.com has the latest update on the upcoming Star Wars trilogy from director Rian Johnson.
Disney gave Rian Johnson the go-ahead to begin developing the new trilogy even before The Last Jedi hit theaters in December. And with Johnson working on a new Star Wars trilogy, J.J. Abrams was announced as writer and director of Star Wars IX.
ScreenRant reports:
So far, Disney and Lucasfilm have stuck with the new main trilogy connected to the original films plus a pair of stand-alones, including this year’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. There are also plans are in place to introduce new stories set in the wider universe. New projects include a series of feature films developed by Game of Thrones showrunners Benioff and Weiss as well as a live-action TV series from Iron Man director Jon Favreau. Not to mention more standalones include films built around OT characters Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Jabba the Hutt.
Over the weekend Johnson’s long-time producing partner Ram Bergman gave an update at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards on the status of The new Star Wars Trilogy.
He told Empire magazine:
“We’ve started. Slowly, slowly, but we’ve started. Hopefully soon we’re going to get busier.”
