CelebNMovies247.com has learned that it looks like the phenomenal Joker movie will now be getting a follow-up.
In fact, a source who revealed Black Mask’s homosexuality in Birds of Prey and Viola Davis’ return for The Suicide Squad and that Mahershala Ali was going to play Jim Gordon in The Batman before he had to drop out was all true.
Which means this bit of news is also true. Word is, Joker 2 is already in the early stages of development over at Warner Brothers, with the studio fully intending to continue Arthur Fleck’s path to infamy.
According to our sources, the film, which will take place several years after the events of the 2019 Golden Lion winner, will focus more on Arthur’s rise as a criminal in Gotham City, rather than his descent into madness.
Additional Villains adding to Joker 2:
We are also hearing via WGTC that Arthur Fleck aka Joker will be crossing paths with a few other Batman villains and it seems that Two-Face and the Penguin may be putting in an appearance. Both of them are also due to show up in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, but the Joker 2 versions would be completely separate, with different actors, due to the movies occupying their own continuity outside of the DCEU.
A New Batman to Face Off with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:
This also means, inevitably that that in the overarching mythology of the character the Dark Knight would eventually make his onscreen debut alongside Arthur, the Clown Prince of Crime (Joaquin Phoenix). When that happens, our sources confirm that we’ll get a full-fledged Batman, not another young Bruce Wayne.
It looks like we should get ready for a Batman Villains Cinematic Universe to start forming in the years to come.
