Vincent D’Onofrio Wants Kingpin + Daredevil Rematch in the MCU

Vincent D’Onofrio Wants Kingpin + Daredevil Rematch in the MCU!

We may never get a fourth season of Daredevil, but that doesn’t mean another battle between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk is out of the question. Get more details on Vincent D’Onofrio wanting to do more Kingpin…

CelebnMovies247.com reports Hawkeye has officially linked back to Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix.

Marvel Cinematic Universe SPOILER ALERT:

In the season finale of Hawkeye, Vincent D’Onofrio was back as Kingpin, and the actor says it’s the “same guy” he portrayed on Daredevil. Meanwhile, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock appeared in the MCU recently as well with a surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Given their history, another showdown between Kingpin and Daredevil could be interesting if the characters ever meet again on-screen. It remains to be seen if they’ll only appear in separate projects or if their feud will one day be revisited.

D’Onofrio has since addressed his return to the role of Kingpin in a new interview with TVLine. The actor was asked about a potential reunion with Charlie Cox in the MCU, and for his part, D’Onofrio admits he hasn’t thought too much about the idea. Even so, once posited with the question, the actor also says he’d “love” to see it happen, and we’re sure the fans would as well. He’s never saying never because his recent return in Hawkeye made him realize that anything is possible.

I would love for that. It hasn’t crossed my mind a lot; I’ve kind of walked away from Daredevil. For a bit, I thought it might come back, but it’s been years now. I gave up on that [possibility]. But I didn’t know that I was going to get a call from [Marvel Studios chief] Kevin [Feige], either, so everything’s up for grabs. I had no idea that I would do Hawkeye.

In any case, D’Onofrio is clearly up for doing more in the MCU as Kingpin if there’s room for the supervillain in other stories?

Based on Kingpins comic book history he has a short wish list of other characters he would like to see:

That list includes Daredevil, but the Punisher and Spider-Man are up there as well. Aside from potential feuds with superheroes, D’Onofrio also wants to see more of Kingpin’ relationship with Maya explored in the upcoming Echo spinoff series.

In the comic runs, it was Punisher, Spider-Man and Daredevil. That would be cool. [Exploring] the relationship with Maya would be cool. It was actually one of the things when I researched Daredevil that I remembered as one of my favorite runs, when he took her under his wing.

Tom Holland has also said that he’d like to see his Spider-Man face Kingpin in another movie. There are tentative plans for Holland to return in another trilogy of Spidey movies, so with both Holland and D’Onofrio interested in a Kingpin match-up, perhaps it just might come true.
